InnerSelf Newsletter: August 14th, 2016

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

While Franklin D. Roosevelt said "the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts...", most of us have plenty of fears to go around. So, perhaps we need to brew ourselves a calming cup of chamomile tea (as seen above) and read some of the articles offered this week to help us gain some perspective on our life and the lives of those around us.

Pamela Blair tells us "How To Handle Fears About Getting Old". And apart from fears about aging and health, we may also be afraid that our past will repeat itself and that we will be victimized "once again". So we bring you a way out with "Once Upon A Now: Retiring Our Victim Stories". And as you know, life doesn't always feel "all wonderful" and there are many reasons why that is so. Read "Why Raising your Consciousness Can Be Painful" and "The Keys to Emotional Balance based on Principles of Chinese Medicine" for numerous insights.

However, whatever state of mind we find ourselves in, there are many things we can do to "up our game". First some introspection is needed and you might ask yourself: "Are You Surfing the Waves of Life?". In addition, there is much we can learn from our four-footed (or four-hooved) friends as shared in "What We Can Learn From Horses for Relationships at Work and at Home".

And of course, as usual we have numerous additional articles for you... dealing with all sorts of topics under the sun and the rain. Scroll down below for the links to this week's new articles.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

How To Handle Fears About Getting Old

Despite the fact that we have a good chance of reaching one hundred (whether we like it or not), many of us fear the unknown landscape of aging. We fear illness, not having enough money, losing our mental abilities, being dependent on others, and becoming a burden to our families. Truth is...

Once Upon A Now: Retiring Our Victim Stories

Written by Courtney A. Walsh.

Once Upon A Now: Letting Go of the Victim Stories

It’s time for humanity to write new parables. New voices. A new language. It’s time for new books. New songs. New pictures. Tradition and nostalgia served their place to bond us and then, to separate us. Fear kept us from grace. It kept us from one another. It kept us from the divine. It kept us lonely and isolated and frightened. Always frightened.

Why Raising your Consciousness Can Be Painful

Written by Elizabeth Joyce.

Fifth Dimension Energy Shifts: Raising your Consciousness

Consciousness itself actually can never be healed, as it is the foundation of healing itself. It is rather that our state of incomplete, separate consciousness is what needs to be repaired, mended, reconnected or made whole—brought back into the state of Oneness. This is known as the State of Being.

The Keys to Emotional Balance based on Principles of Chinese Medicine

The Keys to Emotional Balance based on Principles of Chinese Medicine

Most Eastern styles of medicine pay just as much attention to the patient’s state of mind as to the state of his or her tissues and organs. This insight and acknowledgment of the whole person rather than reducing us to our individual body parts is based on healing methods centuries old that survive because they work.

Are You Surfing the Waves of Life?

Written by Susan Sosbe.

Are You Surfing the Waves of Life?

I smile to myself as a long awaited opportunity has finally arrived. I say opportunity perhaps inappropriately, but the chronic illness that challenged my life for so many years gifted me with an understanding of life that would help me make sense of the rest of it.

What We Can Learn From Horses for Relationships at Work and at Home

Written by Linda Kohanov.

What Horses Can Teach Us

As I became more adept at motivating my horse, focusing her attention, and gaining her respect, relationships at home and work improved. People commented on the change, yet no one could pinpoint what had shifted. The plot thickened as I gained more knowledge about instinctual horse behavior.
