InnerSelf Newsletter: October 23rd, 2016

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

Forest Gump is known for having said "Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." However, I see life as being the outcome of a box of crayons. Depending on which crayons we pick, we will get very different end results.

This week Sarah Love McCoy recommends that you "Keep Hope Alive in Your Heart and Make the World Loving Again". The crayon we would pick for that would be the color of love (maybe that's all the colors together?).

Nora Caron shares about "Recovering More Quickly from Emotional Shocks" and we would definitely move from using deep and dark colors to then using bright colors to create a lighter end-scenario. Stephen Schwartz discusses "Social Wellness: Do Your Personal Choices Matter?". And I would say that just as the colors we choose to paint a picture matter for the creation we end up with, our personal choices make a differences in the life picture we are creating with our day to day choices and experiences.

In "What Do Your Boundaries Say About You?" you might consider if you're allowing others to paint inside your lines or if you need to make the boundaries to your painting more defined or less so. Each "painting" is different so there are no set rules. You must set your boundaries as needed for your own well-being. The place to start in doing so might be in "Defining Requirements, Wants, Desires, and Our Soul's One True Need".

In our additional articles section, you will also find articles that will help you draw the life picture you desire. In some cases, you may need an eraser to clear up past "mistakes" in your picture. Articles that would give you some hints about this area would be: "Early Fear Of Abandonment May Harm Adult Health"; "How The Way You're Born And Fed Affect Your Immune System"; "What Determines Whether You're A Night Owl Or Early Bird?" and much more. Scroll down below for the links to all of the new articles of the week.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

What Do Your Boundaries Say About You?

Written by Cyndi Dale and Andrew Wald

What Do Your Boundaries Say About You?

In our lives -- and in relationships -- we create personal boundaries to define the space we call our own. We set boundaries and say “no” with our words, with our behavior and actions. Boundaries may sound negative, but in reality, they are very important and help to define our personal identities.

Defining Requirements, Wants, Desires, and Our Soul's One True Need

Written by Richard Barrett

Defining Requirements, Wants, Desires, and Our Soul's One True Need

I think it is important to differentiate between a need and a requirement. I say this because I often say to people that I have no needs, meaning that all my needs are taken care of by my soul before I know I have them. However...

We add articles to the website daily
. Rather than wait for the newsletter, you can visit each section according to your interests throughout the week. Each section listed below is designed as its own "mini-website".

The "Living in Harmony" section includes articles on Health & Well-Being, Home & Garden, Pets, Leisure & Creativity, Finance & Careers, and Science and Technology.

The "Personal Development" area covers Attitude Adjustments (which includes Fear, Anger, Gratitude, Forgiveness), Relationships & Parenting, Spirituality & Mindfulness (including Meditation), Intuition & Awareness (including astrology), and Happiness & Success.

"Social & Political" covers topics that affect us personally yet deal with a more "societal" or "political" sphere. This area covers Environment & Climate, Democracy, Justice, Inequality, Economy, and more. These topics are very relevant for our communal journey on Planet Earth.
