InnerSelf Newsletter: September 23rd, 2018

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

This week we focus on taking charge of our life... whether through discovering "Tips For Being Happy, Youthful, and Joyful -- at any Age" or "What Works For Me: 'I Am Safe'." Jude Bijou shares insights on "The Art of Speaking Up and Taking Charge of Your Life".

Rabbi Daniel Cohen asks: "Are You Guilty of Distracted Living?" while Barbara Berger welcomes us into the journey of "The Power of the Vision: This Is A Time of Great Awakening!" We also share with you "Who Can Save Our Democracy? An Open Letter from Michael Moore", an invitation to step up and participate in our democracy and in the future of this country and of the world.

All the actions we take are part of taking our power back, whether in dealing with our own health and well-being, or with the health and well-being of the society and country we live in. Gone are the days of sitting back and hoping, as a child would, that someone else will fix the problems. We are now the adults who need to step up and take a stand and see that things change for the better for our own good and our planet's protection. We are the guardians of our own being and also of everyone one on earth -- we are all relations, we are all connected.

This week, I invite you to take your power back and ask yourself what you would like to see happen, and what you can do to help make it so.

And of course, we have numerous additional articles. Just scroll down below for the short intros and links to all the new articles of the week.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

Tips For Being Happy, Youthful, and Joyful -- at any Age

Written by Jane Wyker

Tips For Being Happy, Youthful, and Joyful -- at any Age

We live in a culture that worships youth and beauty and often disregards, disrespects and diminishes age. This is a shame for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that everyone is growing older every day. Don't be defined by it. Don't allow the culture to define you. Don't allow others to diminish you in any way. It's time to take back control of your life and...

What Works For Me: "I Am Safe"

There are numerous things that make our life "work" for us. Some of these are things we learned along the way, and others are somehow "innate" within us. And of course, there are things that make our life "not work so well". I would like to share with you one thing that has worked for me.

The Art of Speaking Up and Taking Charge of Your Life

The Art of Speaking Up and Taking Charge of Your Life

Both men and women have to learn to speak up in order to take charge of their lives and cultivate meaningful relationships! This applies to school, work, business, family, and social events. As scary as it can seem at first, I guarantee that speaking up will bring copious rewards and breakthrough moments.

Are You Guilty of Distracted Living?

Written by Rabbi Daniel Cohen

The Timely Man’s Mindful Message: Are You Guilty of Distracted Living?

We live in a generation that has many distractions. Even when we try to be focused on the day—today—we’re affected by CPA—not certified public accounting but a syndrome I call “continuous partial attention.” We pay continuous partial attention in an effort not to miss anything—multitasking, surfing the Web, answering our cell phones—yet in the end, we gain nothing.

The Power of the Vision: This is A Time of Great Awakening!

What is the next step? Where are we all going? We are witnessing ... and participating in ... great events, extraordinary events. Nothing less than a planetary transformation is taking place, right here and now. Nothing less than a revolution in consciousness is going on. This is a time of great awakening! Hallelujah!

Who Can Save Our Democracy? Open Letter from Michael Moore

Written by Michael Moore

Who Can Save Our Democracy? Open Letter from Michael Moore

I ask one simple question in my new film: how the hell did we let this happen and what the hell do we do now? Democracy is not a guarantee. Freedom is not inevitable. All of the myths and heroic tales we've told ourselves about America have been exposed. The mask has been removed. And in the battle for the future of America, there is no guarantee of victory.
