Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

One thing that is becoming clear is that we are all connected. Something that takes place on the other side of the planet affects us here. Prime examples: Covid-19 which started in China; the nuclear waste that leaked into the Pacific Ocean after a tsunami hit a nuclear plant in Japan; the Sargassum seaweed from the North Atlantic Ocean that is starting to cover the beaches of the Caribbean, Central and South America, the Gulf coast of Mexico, Florida and Texas. And then there is the pollution, plastic and otherwise, that washes up on beaches everywhere which comes from all over; and of course there is the warming and rising oceans.

And on an energetic level, we are also affected by the destruction that we hear or see in the news from wildfires, tornados, hurricanes, flooding, droughts, shootings, etc. We can no longer stand separate from it all. We are affected either directly, or indirectly through our fears, sadness and other emotions that arise as we hear about tragedy after tragedy.

This reminds us that we are all connected. Everyone everywhere is part of our family and our inner circle. It's not "us against them", but it's all for one, and one for all. We can no longer pretend that we are "separate from it all". We are all in it together. One Planet, One World, One Humanity. By joining with others in love and harmony, we help carve a path of unity and connection so that we can create a better world, right here and right now. Forget about "the afterlife", or "life on Mars", or other escapist scenarios. We are here now, and this is where we must take action and create our today and our children's tomorrows.

We can all participate in making it a better world. And these choices involve our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, people we meet in stores or speak to on the phone... every contact presents us with choices: giving love or withholding love; community or separation; collaboration or competition. Moment by moment, our choices create our today and our tomorrow.

This week we focus on community, collaboration, cooperation, connection.
